Week in the Life
One of my favorite blogs just did a Week in the Life profile of her life. It was very inspiring. With a toddler the same age as Maggie, I don't know how she finds the time to scrapbook, sew, and organize so well among everything else, but like I said, she is inspiring. If I get a new camera eventually, featuring a Week in the Life of my family is at the top of my list!

A day late
I just have to say it...Happy Belated Earth Day! Wanted to post something yesterday but life got in the way. Cranky little lady that wanted to get out of the house. Who, this little lady?
This week has been good. Life sure can be hard sometimes, but overall, life is pretty dang good.
If you know me, you know I love and make lists about everything. It's the only way I can keep track of things. I even write down the tiniest things, like clip hangnail. I've been made fun of that one in the past. Often I will come across my list with a special addition by hubby and it always makes me crack up to see how he interpreted what I wrote.
Here is my list of what made me happy this week:
*Being reminded that I have a great job where I enjoy spending my time. I like my co-workers. Working part-time is a blessing as it allows me to be home with my little girl during the week and not get burnt out on the daily grind.
*Hubby and I are getting back to spending more time together and what makes it so easy is that we have family offering to babysit. Go see "Date Night"! I love Tina Fey's energy.
*Looking forward to a girls vacation next month (nose in the planner)...
*I stocked the fridge, now I just need to cook something!
Not so happy about...
*My favorite jeans smelling like fish oil. I am bad at leaving things in my pockets when stuff goes in the washer. This time it was a prenatal vitamin + fish oil in the capsule. For the LIFE of me, I cannot get the smell out and it transferred onto some other clothes. Mulitple washes, white vinegar, oxyclean, and fabric softener sheets did not solve it. Baking soda?

I miss my pink camera
I need a new point and shoot. Micky, do you hear me?
I'm late updating my Ravelry photos, I haven't taken good pictures of Maggie in a month, and I need pictures of my spring garden before it gets hot. I know we don't have all the money in the world and that I need to pay a ticket among other things, but...!
Yeah, a ticket. I was caught speeding my regular route down a huge hill on a rainy day with Maggie fussy in the back...it wasn't the best combination and my mind was not on the road no matter how alert my hubby wants me to be at all times. The cherry on top was that my car battery died while I was stopped and I had to ask the cop to jump me. He was really nice and seemed sympathetic, but not so sympathetic that he wouldn't ticket me. Bummer.
I seem to be having more of these moments in my life since I became a mom. Ones where something happens and you are outraged, enraged, embarrassed, want to hide, you get the idea. Moments where you don't want anyone to know after the fact, but then realize awhile later that you learned a lot from them and that they are actually one of the funniest things that has happened to you lately.

Growing
Let's see...Maggie's looks are changing, her hair is a mess of crazy waves and curls, she's delightful at one moment and whiny the next, she loves playing outside with garden tools, and she eats most of what we eat and makes funny faces. She just experienced a couple feverish nights, probably related to some new teeth popping through. Molars? All I know is there were many times I wanted to pull my hair out earlier this week.
She has slowed down growth-wise, which makes me worry, but I know it's normal. She's just such a small little lady. I come from a tall family, so I'm not used to it. Her 12-month clothing barely stays on her.
Here is a fun one...she has started using baby sign language. We've mostly taught her by showing her these videos for the past 6 months and it was like a lightbulb went on right after her birthday. We have recognized the signs "more", "all done", "bird", and "want". She is also sounding out 1-syllable words after we say them, like "hot" and "sock". It's funny to listen to her little voice.
She has always gotten around really well. Everyone comments about it. It cracked me up that my mom told me she always wondered what a climbing baby was like since neither my sister or I were climbers. Well, we have one, she climbs on everything and is pretty good at it, and she is pretty risky when she goes to get off of something, like our king-size bed. She knows it's going to be a fall but goes for it anyway. Half the time she is upset that she tumbled, half the time she lands well and keeps on moving.
