I've been thinking this a lot as I go through my blur of days and I have moments of personal joy when I treat myself to something yummy, watch something for myself on TV, or have a good conversation with a friend. That's about all I can manage right now as I care for Max and Maggie. They are taking up all of my time and at the end of the day I barely see hubby before I plop into bed. I've been dealing with mastitis again, or something milder like plugged ducts. I think it was unresolved from a few weeks back so the antibiotics came into play this time. Hoping it solves the issue, it's not fun at all to feel icky, especially when you don't have time to feel icky.

My mornings can be hairy if I don't get the kids out of the house by late morning. Today was one of those days but once we got in the car, Max quieted down, Maggie perked up, and we got her new summer sandals, did a TJ run, and hit the Folsom park and train ride. It was Max's first train ride and it was cute because the loud steam and toots made him grip my fingers harder. He loved being outside all day and didn't fuss much which is pretty opposite of how he is inside when I need to do things like laundry, cook, or be with Maggie. He's always letting us know that he wants to be held or that his diaper needs to be changed. It's a good thing but it's exhausting.
Today's personal treat was a dark chocolate bar with caramel and black sea salt. I almost ate the whole thing but saved 1/3 of it.
I also give props to my mother in law who gifted us a nice baby swing. I wanted one that swung side to side with vibration and I ended up with a new style that doesn't take up your whole living room and the chair snaps out so that you can take it around the house with you and rock the baby. Features I don't use are snapping an infant car seat into it and plugging your ipod in! It's pretty nice and it has given me good breaks or helped me get the kiddo to sleep.
Life is good and it's passing by very fast.
I've plugged my phone into the swing. Max seemed indifferent to Pandora's Dance Cardio station.
