Smiles

It's really fun to watch your baby start to smile. Michael and I have learned little things that make Max smile (him doing beat box with his little arms, me playing with his lower lip on his changing table).

Max in a nutshell at 1 month (this week!):

-likes being on his changing table, baths as long as he's not clobbered by big sister or doesn't get too much water in his eyes, snuggling with us, being outside, facing out.
-he's a big baby. He's now fitting comfortably in 3-6 month clothes. Everyone comments about his size, asks his weight at birth, and says he is long and has big feet and hands.
-he has lots of dark hair. This is also what people comment about. His hair poofs straight up after a bath.
-he looked like Maggie when she was born. Now, he's getting his own look and I see a lot of myself in him. Others are seeing my dad.
-he falls asleep in the car which is such a blessing!
-he's had some fussy days, but he's also had some wonderfully quiet days (like today) that make having two seem somewhat easy. I'm enjoying every minute. It was hard to do that the first time around.

Hubby is officially back at work and it's so nice that I had the past month to get adjusted. Two is definitely different than one, but it's great and I'm so happy we have Max in our family now. Time is flying by.

Our goofy girl. Being at home full-time I've seen so many great moments with Maggie.

Funny comments from her:

-when Max was born she asked "where are his pajamas"?
-"he's got gum teeth" in reference to him having no teeth
-"when I was born I had two teeth". When I argued with her about this, she insisted she was right.
-heard her say this morning while holding two of her babies (I think one was a pig) "I need to put these kids to bed". I'm afraid she's heard more than she should have from us this past month.
-she is infatuated with gum and if you ask her what she wants for dinner or what restaurant she wants to go to it's always Spaghetti Factory or chinese food. She loves the SF, but Brainy Zoo being in the same building has a lot to do with it. Ultimate 3-year old fun. And I think she confuses chinese food with thai food. She's learned to like baby corn and brown noodles at the thai restaurant.

There are so many more good comments but I need to write them down when they happen.

As for me, I don't have a scale in the house, but I'm feeling pretty recovered and much thinner :-) Still enjoying the early pregnancy clothes, but bringing out the regular clothes to see what I can fit into.
